How HORIZON Insurance managed to make data driven decisions reducing the time needed adopting the innovative solution of Power BI

OVERVIEW

  • Orizon Insurance, a purely Greek company with a significant presence in the field of
    insurance since 1964, is among the most traditional and financially stable forces in the
    Greek insurance market, offering its customers reliable and quality insurance solutions perfectly adapted to their particular needs.
  • The company already owned an ERP system, keeping their client
    data concerning contracts, coverage and changes, out of which BEWISE was asked to build a new data warehouse, to offer immediacy in all data records.
  • Additionally, the company needed a unified reporting tool in Power BI, to reduce time in the extraction of necessary data, with automatic calculations, that would help to proceeding in fast decisions.
  • A great challenge for BEWISE was to introduce the team of Orizon Insurance to a Power BI tool and the possibilities offered, since they were not familiar with its use before.

  • Creation of data warehouse on premise in SQL server
  • ΕΤL – Update of the existing data warehouse through SSIS packages
  • Calculation feature within the data warehouse (SQL development- stored procedures)
  • Records storing in the data warehouse – recording of all changes on boards
  • Production evolution – analysis of all insurance policies (report)

CONCLUSION

  • A tool the company was not familiar with, is now playing an important role in decision making, offering a full view of its state, offering immediacy in data records
  • As a result of its use, the time for sales meetings is now minimized
  • All departments are offered complete, accurate and fast information in any platform from anywhere in the world
  • Especially useful for the commercial department, allowing the team to make decisions by instantly offering information about each insurance agent (commissions, targets, contracts, etc)
